While recording his first comedy album at Brooklyn’s Union Hall, Michael Showalter was forced to confront a woman in the front row. The woman wasn’t heckling him, but her meowing cats might have been. For more than three minutes, Showalter playfully attacked her for bringing two cats. At one point, he even gave the woman an ultimatum, “Either leave or kill the cats. I think that’s fair.” After the show Showalter got a chance to meet the woman (and pet her cats), but, to this day, he still doesn’t have an explanation of why she decided to bring them.
