| Bright Eyes to Rock the Obama Vote |
|
Tonight at in Omaha, NE, Bright Eyes along with folk-rocker M. Ward, Jim Ward of Sparta, and Secret Life of Sparrows will take the stage to rally for Barack Obama in his quest to win the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. This isn’t the first time that Conor Oberst, frontman for Bright Eyes, has played to support Obama. In January, in the lead up to the Iowa Caucuses, Oberst performed at a rally to support senator from Illinois. The show is to take place tonight at the music venue Slowdown, which has already given away all available free tickets. Fans hoping to attend the show had to register to vote or had to sign a card pledging their support for Obama, who recently gained written support of rapper Q-Tip. With only two days left before Nebraska’s Democratic caucuses on Saturday, this event could affect the youth vote in Omaha, as fans leave the concert and take their experiences with them.

Coming only two days after splitting votes with Hillary Clinton on Super Tuesday, the performers hope to make a big impact in this Midwestern state where the latest CNN-Opinion Research poll shows the two Democratic senators in a statistical dead-heat.
