| Mike Falzone - Fun With Honesty |
|
There’s something likeable about Mike Falzone. Named Fairfield University’s best on-campus band 2 years in a row (2005 and 2006) Falzone has won fans over with his live shows.
On Falzone’s 1st release Fun With Honesty he uses his witty lyrics and a soulful voice to become something a little funkier than the average singer/songwriter. On “Famous” he writes that “he would grow a beard” or “work on his flow” to break into the billboard charts. Sounding like Bradley Nowell of Sublime he softly repeats “we could fake the world out” letting you in on his little joke. His sensitivity shines through on other tracks like “Fenway (No End In Sight)” where he asks an ex if they can try to start again. With lines like, “And those wild eyes are all I need to get me through the night,” he’s sure to melt the girls hearts. With a little help from The Smyrk, Falzone is the underdog on “Unsuccessful Supervillian” On Fun With Honesty, Falzone tries to garner appeal outside of the college sector. With his infusion of reggae, ska and rock he makes an album that could be heard on a radio station near you. - Shannon Carlin
