| Sabertooth Zombie – “Mere Bears: The Riot Cops Bathed On Zion” |

STZ's sound is somewhat like the taste of wet dirt in your mouth—the way any teenager's first band sounds live in the garage, except that these guys are actually good. Mere Bears... is a combo of two older EPs, Dance and The Prisoner, which most people probably haven't heard. What a shame! This shit is as raw and bloody as a freshly butchered cow. And with the tracks switched around, this record plays more like a full-length than two EPs simply slopped together on one disc. There's a Wire cover, an Animals cover, and ten other tracks I can only describe as hardcore running to the hills. This is a great disc to have in your collection, and I'll tell you why. Because one day, when your kids are wearing neon jumpsuits and listening to space age electronica, they'll ask you what music used to sound like. You can put on some STZ, watch 'em vomit all over the place, and then make 'em clean it up! (Twelve Gauge Records) - Kyle Timlin
