| Verse – "Aggression" |
|
When your record's titled Aggression, it better be pretty fucking aggressive! No qualms here, though, because Verse is more aggressive then a date rapist on HGH. Everything is laid out on the line with Aggression. Verse tells you exactly what they're pissed about, details and all, with no guessing games involved. They attack the injustices we see, the problems we're born with, and all the pressure we just can't escape. Verse makes me feel like I'm back at the drive-in, but without all the metaphoric plot lines and fancy special effects—or like I'm stumbling through the Mu Empire, and suddenly trip over a pink rose in a graveyard. Aggression is simultaneously fast and slow, heavy and light, all in what a chickenshit over-analyst would describe as “post-hardcore.” Only problem with that is, it's happening in the present! There's a very honest and crucial message here. It'll rock your soul and rattle your bones. “They'll never silence me as long as I can breathe!” (Bridge Nine Records) - Kyle Timlin
